RYA Youth Sailing Stage 1/2 (6-week block)
Our RYA (Royal Yachting Association) Stage 1 course is the introductory stage to the basics of launching, sailing and recovering a boat. By the end of this introductory course, you will have a basic understanding of how a boat sails, and some experience of steering and handling the boat. When our young sailors get signed off in the Stage 1 syllabus, they will then move on to Stage 2, where they will achieve a range of sailing skills and background knowledge, and be well on the way to being a confident small boat sailor. Secondary-school children may be able to use their sailing qualifications in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme. In all cases everyone should at least achieve the Stage 1 certificate in this 2 day course.
